We only text a number once the person it belongs to has said yes, in one of these ways. Each time, we keep a record of when, how, and the exact words they said yes to.

1. On this page

   Type your mobile number and tick the box above. It’s never ticked for you.

2. At the host stand

   When you give us your number for the waitlist, or to book a table by phone, the host reads you this, word for word, and only notes that you said yes if you do:

   “Can we text you at this number? there there will only text you about your visit: when your table is ready, and confirmations, changes and reminders for any booking. Never marketing. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop, or HELP for help. Our text terms and privacy policy are at therethereoma.com/sms. Is that okay?”

   If you’d rather not, that’s fine: we’ll call your name at the stand, or email you about your booking, and won’t text you.

3. When you book online

   Once online booking opens, the booking form has the same box as above, with the same words, never ticked for you. You can book without ticking it, and we’ll email you instead.

4. By text

   Reply START to any of our texts to start them again after replying STOP.

Only texts about your visits: when your table is ready on the waitlist; confirmations, changes and cancellations of your bookings; reminders the day before and two hours before; answers to your replies; and sign-in codes you ask for. No marketing or promotional texts. For example:

• Signed up for texts

  there there: you're signed up for texts about your table and bookings. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

• Table ready

  there there: your table for 2 is ready. Please come back to the host stand and we'll seat you.

• Booking confirmed

  there there: you're booked for 2 on Sun, Oct 18 at 7:00 pm.

• Reminder the day before

  there there: just a reminder, you're booked for 2 tomorrow, Sat, Oct 17 at 7:00 pm. Reply C to confirm or X to cancel.

• Reminder 2 hours before

  there there: see you today at 7:00 pm, party of 2. Can't make it? Reply X to cancel.

• Texts stopped

  there there: you won't get any more texts from us. Reply START to start them again.

• Help

  there there: texts about your table and bookings. For help, see https://therethereoma.com/sms. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

• there there texts are about your visits, as above. We text US and Canadian numbers.
• Message frequency varies with your visits.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to stop all our texts. We’ll send one last text to confirm, and none after it until you reply START. To cancel a booking by text, reply X: CANCEL stops texts.
• Reply HELP for help.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• Saying yes to texts is not a condition of purchase. You can eat with us and book a table without it.

We use your mobile number to send you the texts above, and keep the record of your yes to show you agreed to them.

We don’t sell, rent or share your mobile number, or your yes to texts, with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text message opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party, except the provider that delivers our texts for us, and only to deliver them.
